I purchased my Giant Hollow almost a year ago now at 'Funkycats'
launch. Right from the word go the service from Jenny and
Maurie has been exceptional. I changed my mind about the size
at least 20 times and the colours at least 30!! They kindly
delivered it and navigated the narrow passages of my house
to install it, as I had just had knee surgery and was on crutches.
I knew it was going to be a 'hit' as soon as
it came in the door - I can still remember the look of consternation
on their faces as all of a sudden it started to tip off the
trolley (Miles had raced out of the bedroom and jumped inside
it!) There was no way he was getting out so they rebalanced
it and continued on.
Approximately 30 sec later exactly the same
thing happened again ( this time it was Rupert joining Miles
and he wasn't budging either!) Now the Giant Hollow is heavy
enough as it is, and poor Jenny and Maurie had to contend
with an extra 12 Kg in the form of 2 excited felines!! I have
4 cats - Oliver (black and white domestic), Harry, Miles and
Rupert (Russian Blues) collectively called 'The Boys' who have a combined weight of 26 Kg!!
All of them love the giant hollow and
are often on/in it at the same time, so I think that's a fantastic
endorsement of its robustness. I don't clip their claws either
and it is in exactly the same condition as it was a year ago!!
I have a number of climbing contraptions for
The Boys but the hollow is their favourite - it is also a
lovely piece of furniture (it never fails to draw admiring
comments from everyone that sees it). Rupert sits in the bottom
of it waiting for some intrepid fool (i.e. me) to dangle a
feather in the top opening whereupon he waits for varying
amounts of time, then flies up the inside and attacks both
the feather and the hand holding it. He gets me everytime
- I even watch his paws and try to drop the feather as soon
as I see them move, but he's just too fast :(I could go on
and on about how much enjoyment The Boys get out of it but
I'd be here all day.
Essentially I can't fault the workmanship,
nor the service both before and after I bought the giant hollow.
I think I might have to get another smaller one that I can
fit in my lounge room....... :)
Many thanks and congratulations for a wonderful
product and impeccable service.

Hi Maurie & Jenny
The small hollow with the heavy duty carpet seems to be holding
up really well after
six months of use. Now we have moved it into the Family Room
it is being used a lot....with both Thumps and Dreams using
the back of it to scratch....right up to the pillow. Mrs
Dreams uses the top a lot to sleep or to be near to us in
the room....poor Thumps only gets a chance to use it when
she has decided it is time for her to go to the warmth of
the doona on the bed.
Mrs Dreams likes to have the tail of "white ratty"
hanging over the edge of the pillow so that she can scratch
up the back of the hollow and then drag him off the top. Thumps
has decided he likes to do that too!
Thanks again, from us and from Thumps and Mrs Dreams for
your most attractive and
useful creation.
I am enclosing a few more photos....enjoy!
Kind regards

Hi Maurie & Jenny,
What a surprise to hear from you!
We are all well and everything is going fine. We have actually
moved house and, whilst the hollow remains in the lounge room
with us, it does not sit in front of the window but rather
between two windows. With winter here, they love the central
heating gently blowing on the top so they spend a lot of time
there.
It is still there pride and joy, as well as retreat from
people when they are either
wanting a rest or unsure of who it is that's invaded their
home. The hollow itself is still in great nick, just
like it was when we brought it home and survived
the move no worries. Just last weekend, both Ramses
and Leia were curled up together asleep on the top after much
running around (we've gone from a unit to a house) - they
definitely share it!
I had a friend come over last week as well, who hadn't seen
the hollow or anything like it before, and she was saying
she'd have one in her house just because of the way it looks!!!
She doesn't even own a cat! Now that's a ompliment for you!
Cheers and hope all is well with you both and your family.

G'day Maurie & Jenny,
All is going very well with our Large Hollow, it ended up
very close to where we sat it down when we got it home, Gus
& Mia have both claimed top spot, Max only rarely ventures
up because if Gus spots him there he gets chased off.
We bought a couple of metres of olive coloured polar fleece
material & have it folded on top,Gus & Mia sleep together
curled up on top in the polar fleece. Everybody that comes
to our home is blown away when they see the hollow (hard to
miss ! ) it's the 1st thing you see when we open our front
door.
Even after 6 months of use it is showing no signs
of wear so your advice on carpet selection was spot on ( we
also brush & vacuum it down every week )
Hope you are both well & that your wonderful trees &
hollows are popping up all over the country.

Hi Maurie,
We have moved to our new apartment in the city and the Large
Hollow is beside the window there too. Suki and Roxi still
enjoy playing in and around the Hollow every day.
First thing in the morning, Roxi gets up on the top platform
to survey for birds through the window. She is so funny the
way she clucks and carries on. Suki joins her and madly clucks
at the birds as well.
The Hollow is standing up very well to Suki and Roxi's
scratching and quite often I find Suki sleeping in
the lower entry whole to the Hollow.
Our visitors are amazed to see the Hollow and make comments
like - "I wonder if I could get one for my kids"
and "I wonder if I could get the Hollow in water proof
fabric for my birds". I am not sure I would recommend
such a beautiful cat play unit for the above uses, however,
I would recommend the Funky Cat Large Hollow to any one who
loves the pussy cat friends as much as I do.
Just to see their little funny antics and the happiness on
their faces as they play with each other in and around the
Hollow every day, does a lot for my heart and takes me away
from the daily stresses of work and life's problems.
Kind regards,
Kerrie |

Hi Maurie
The girls love it. The MFH (Medium Funky Hollow) has had
a permanent home
since arrival. It just happens to be below the split system
(heater) and Koochi is found there each morning now enjoying
the heat(when they don't get to sleep with us!).
They mainly
play on it .. neither of them sit for long periods .. they
still like the sheepskin on our bed or the sofa but they do
LOVE the FH!
Just back from a trip overseas.
Will find some photos and email off to you at earliest opportunity.
Regards

Hi Maurie & Jenny,
I think PC may have claimed the top but at times I find both
of them curled up together there in the sun. I have it in
the front study where they are able to look out the window
and see all that goes on outside. As it is just near a heating
duct I find PC there hanging over the top with the warm air
blowing in her face.
Holly goes troppo every now and then hanging upside down
from the leaves and
going in and out of the hollows.
My sisters two cats are enjoying their hollow, especially
her new kitten that hides inside and waits to attack the older
cat. Theirs is also in front of the glass doors looking out
into the garden with all the native birds having baths etc
etc.

To whom it may concern,
I am a delighted owner of a medium-sized Funky Cat Hollow.
I speak on behalf of our family which includes our one year
old fury friend, Elmo.
The Funky Cat was actually a generous gift from good friends,
who although not cat lovers themselves understand the love
we have for ours. Before the introduction of the Funky Cat
Hollow, Elmo was a classic couch scratching moggie, however
that changed almost immediately. Without coaxing Elmo took
to his new toy, like a duck to water and our furniture is
now safe.
Elmo not only uses the Funky Cat as a scratching post but
also as a safe haven when little people are around. It gives
him a sense of security to groom in a spot where little hands
can't reach. Because the Funky Cat is aesthetically pleasant
we have placed it in the lounge so we can enjoy, Elmo enjoying
his Funky Cat. We all enjoy playing with Elmo drawing him
in and out of the hollows with his favourite toys. We are
thankful for our Funky Cat it's the Rolls Royce of cat entertainment
centres. Thank you for your creation.
Thank You
