Is Funky Cat the funkiest feline furniture in the WORLD?

I was both pleased and disappointed to find your website. Pleased, because you have precisely the products I want for my cat. And disappointed because you're in Australia and I'm in the US :(

However, I did want to write and say I hope you keep producing those products. All the US producers of cat "mushroom trees" and hollows have only 1 step before the top perch on a 30-25 inch tree, and you have 2. My cat is 16 years old, and she just can't manage a 15 or 16 inch jump up all the trees here would require. Yours though, look to be only about 10 inches (approx 25 cm) apart which would be perfect for her. Your design is very attractive too, and the springies are a nice touch.

If you ever branch out to US distribution, please let me know.

Thought i'd give you some written feed-back on the 'hollow' purchased Saturday & how it seems to have transformed Indie already!

As you could see, Indie is somewhat of a lively Bengal, full of energy & very playful (as demonstrated when he annihilated your feathered wand!!). He's temperament had become a little frustrated over the last 3 weeks, as he just wanted to climb & play.

Since purchasing your wonderful 'medium hollow' - 2 days ago, he has transformed (literally over night) into a calmer, happier kitten! The pipe cleaners have been attached to the top springy & he just cant leave it alone - he entertains himself for ages & goes deliriously nuts when played with, diving in & out & generally showing off - purring all the way! Simply put, he is alot happier & markedly more content.

The workmanship that goes into your product really becomes apparent when seeing it for yourself, whilst the pictures are great, they dont do it justice - the quality stands out in a league of its own ...far better than any carpet covered pole construction - so hats off to you guys!!

When we get some film of Indie, we'll be sure to forward it on.

Thanks for the email. Carlos and Ziggy have just turned 5 months and the hollow is well and truly part of their day. We find that they use it when they are chasing each other through the house and Ziggy (the brown) particularly likes to sit on the very top surveying his kingdom. I have attached a few photos taken a couple of months ago.

Well - What can I say? The cat hollow arrived and it looks absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to get my little girls. The colour is just perfect for our furniture. It is certainly going to be a bit of a talking point with visitors. There is just no comparison with the el- cheapo ones from the pet shops. It's certainly worth the money.

The small tree is a huge success! It is especially appreciated by Bella, Basil still pretends that he's not really interested but I have caught him climbing on it when he thinks I'm out of the room!

I think both cats will use it much more as the weather gets colder and wetter when they'll spend more time indoors during the day, they have a good view of the back garden from the tree top.

Hopefully I'll then be able to get some good photos to send you. The one I've attached is of a sleepy Bella relaxing on the tree top.

Hi Maurie and Jenny,

Just wanted to let you know what a success our medium funky hollow is and the colours (Bordeaux red and charcoal grey) look fantastic. We arrived home and our Burmese "Eclair" greeted us at the door, she was very eager to sniff out this new piece of furniture.

Whilst we tried to find the best position in our lounge room she was not getting out, she sat in the bottom whilst we maneuvered it around the room. She is already showing her acrobatic abilities, by leaping from the floor to the highest leaf and then sliding down the inside so she pops out the bottom face up. I am sure she will have many hours of fun, as we will watching her.

Thanks for all your help, we have taken some photos and will get one to you as soon as we can. We will also have no hesitation in passing on your details to other interested people.

Dear Maurie and Jenny,

I purchased one of your medium funky hollows on February 7th for my beautiful burmese, Gemma. Just thought i'd let you know she absoloutely loves it. I've placed it in a corner which looks out one of the front windows. She loves sitting on the top so she can look out the window to survey her territory.

She also loves climbing on and scratching the trunk and leaves which has been great
for my new carpet, she has not clawed my carpet since i got the hollow. The other
day she climbed up inside from the bottom to the top and loves to play hide and seek
and attack fingers if you're game enough to put them inside the hollow.

Next Thursday i'm picking up my new burmese girl to join Gemma so i'm sure i'm in for some new fun and games with the hollow.

The Funky Hollow was a BIG hit. Koko, Pepe and Boo wouldn't even let me get it inthe door before wanting to investigate further. They love to climb on, through and up it until they reach the top. They use it to either sit happily and quietly to watch the world go by, or use it to escape and hide during some of the great cat chases.

Everyone I have shown the latest cat pictures to, have commented on how great it looks, and what a great idea it is.

We can't wait for more creative cat adventure designs coming out of Funky Cat.

We discovered Funky Cat scratching poles about a year ago. We instantly loved the orignal designs and range of colours available. Jenny and Maurie have been very helpful and patient as we tried to make up our minds.

They are solidly built and very stable. Being breeders of Ragdolls we can have some very heavy cats. Our Premier Neuter, Alexander Blu, is approx 8kgs. We have found the scratching poles are very stable, as he often scrambles up the sides.

Also, the ability to lay-by and make fortnightly payments meant our buget was not affected.

We recommend Funky Cat scratching poles to all the new owners of our kittens and to anyone else who will listen. We currently have two and plan to buy more.

After discovering Funky Cat we will not buy a regular scratching pole again.

Oh, and our cats love them too.

Just a quick update to let you know that Thumps and Dreams are having a great time
with the hollow. Each morning they go to it and have games around it.....playing hide and seek around it and sharpening their claws on the trunk. Then they will wait for one of us to come and play too.

The other day Dreams decided to go inside....to retrieve one of her toys.....that was just too much for Thumps...so he had to try to go in too....they would not both fit at the same time....so he backed out.

Dear Maurie & Jenny,

Thanks so much for my Funky Hollow which is still going very well and has been a huge hit. It's certainly the talking point of my room and the first thing that catches peoples eyes when they walk in, I get lots of compliments. Often I get visitors asking me if they could come back as one of my cats!

Chloe is very taken with the top penthouse position and sleeps there most of the day. She's quite disgusted when Cassie occasionally gets on top first and we often have brawls ;) Cassie' bigger so usually she holds her own however she's also more than happy to sleep in the bottom where it's quite warm and safe.

Thanks again to both of you for the fantastic product and excellent service you provided. Even going out of your way to assist me with my disability was just a breathe of fresh air.

My two girls certainly love you for it too!

We would just like to say how happy we are with our Small Hollow....our two birmans seem very happy with it too. As you know it took Thumps quite a while to actually get inside the hollow, but he goes to it in the mornings now...to have a game, and Dreams goes there too.....the two of them spend time playing around it and on it.

Dreams loves to stretch to her full length and scratch on the trunk.....must feel really good! Thumper likes to scratch on it too.....and also to hide around the trunk and charge at Dreams....he is really only a kitten...even if he does look older...and he is still very playful. He will sit and look around the edge of the trunk to see if anyone is coming to play with him. Dreams likes to lie upside down and work her paws on one of the lower leaves. She will go inside to retrieve toys but Thumps is still a little wary of that.

Thank you both for your excellent and very efficient service...sending the samples of carpet so that we could choose the colors we liked......and recommending the heavy duty carpet for our heavy scratcher too....you certainly have a wonderful and unique product. Our Funky Hollow is in our lounge room and it looks really great there....quite a conversation piece...and certainly an "entertainment centre" for our two beautiful birmans. They will get a lot of pleasure from your creation.

As many people probably don't have time to check out the internet for scratching posts....and yours certainly could not be called just "scratching posts", you should send photos of the various Hollows to cat clubs so members can see what lovely creations you make....you will get lots of orders, I'm sure.

Just thought you may like an update.

The Hollow is definitely the pride and joy of our two - it's their escape piece and look out if you try to pat one of them whilst they're hiding inside! Amazingly, they share the top and often sleep up there together.

They use all of it - often sitting on the leaves or on the top, and sleeping on top. When they're feeling really active, they will go up and down the middle but it's when they're sitting inside on the bottom watching us that we have to be careful. It's virtually always playful but if I haven't clipped their claws, look out!

They'll also just hide in there if they feel the lounge is too crowded with visitors and they want to just watch. Quite cute, actually.

By the way, my dad made a suggestion the other day I thought you might like. He thought having springies hanging upside-down on the underside of the leaves (more-so the lower leaves) would be good fun for the cats. Especially if the spring is a little longer, allowing it to swing more. Not sure if that's feasible but he's one of my critics so for him to come up with an idea is amazing! Mind you, he admits the idea of the Hollow is a great one, so huge credit there :)!

The cats love the trees. They like to dangle over the leaves and the tall tree means they are at my eye level and they love it because it means they get heaps of pats as I walk past. I've received comments from visitors as to how unusual they are and how good they look. I'm very pleased with both trees and I'm recommending them to others.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Was sitting having breakfast this morning and saw the least acclimatized cat go straight down the middle and out the bottom. Last night she was clawing so hard it was as if she was trying to rip the bark off the trunk! They're loving it, and, it is certainly a talking piece!

My parents arrive tomorrow to stay over Christmas .. can't imagine what they'll have to say about their 'grand daughters' new scratching pole!?

Did you ever see The Lost Forest concept when it was in Melbourne. Theme shops with soft toys and 'talking trees'. The Funky Hollow reminds me of that concept.

One lazy Sunday morning over brunch at a cafe, I saw an article in the Weekend magazine.

What a wonderful idea, someone has finally come-up with a fantastic pussycat cat play station in the form of a very clever furniture item. I wrote down the Internet address and the next day logged on to the Funkycat web site.

I was truly amazed by the design of the "Hollow" and decided that a "large Hollow" would make the most wonderful Christmas present for my two pussycats "Suki (Lilac Siamese) and Roxy (Lilac Tonkanese).

The Funkycat web site made it so easy to determine the dimensions for size and colour suitability of the large Hollow. I simply e-mail Maurie and Jenny who promptly sent me carpet samples and within a week or so I ordered the large hollow in brown trunk with green leaves.

I was delighted when I saw the "large Hollow" at time of pick-up some weeks later, the quality of manufacture was amazing. And well, although I tried to sneak the "Hollow" into our apartment Suki and Roxy laid claim very quickly. So I let them have the hollow as an early Christmas present and they just love it!!

Thank you Maurie and Jenny, it's a great product, worth every cent and I would recommend it to any owner who loves their cats and wants to give them something very special!!!

Thank you so much for this amazing creation! My cats - Ramses and Leia - didn't even let us get their Funky Hollow into the house before they were climbing all over it...and through it!

They haven't left it alone since, be it to climb or just sleep on - they love it!! It gives our lounge a garden-type affect without imposing and certainly makes for a creative talking point - even the harshest of critics about my love of cats concedes this is a fantastic idea and admires it whenever they come around. My babies just love being in the room on their own piece of furniture they can scratch without getting into trouble.

Even better, the incredible creators of the Funky range were so friendly and efficient in their production of Ramses and Liea's Hollow, I'm recommending them to anyone with a cat or two - even the shops that sell regular cat scratchers and our Vet!!!
